Counting down the days

I am not proud of myself. I have been truly slacking on the blog posts lately. I am hoping to do much better once I am on my mat leave....starting next weekend!!
As far as the pregnancy goes, everything is going well. I am just reaching blimp-size proportions! I am about 39-40 weeks along and have been getting weekly "AFI" (amniotic fluid checks) ultrasounds because my fluid was low with the last pregnancy which caused me to be induced. This time around I seem to have plenty of fluid, which means I am due to have my planned C-Section scheduled for Friday February 7 at 9:30 am!!
My hospital bag is packed, baby unisex clothes are folded on shelves and we are trying to prep the dogs and Nolin for the little peanut's arrival. I'm trying to live in the moment with my little family of 3 as best as possible while at the same time counting down the days until this basketball is out of my belly! Unfortunately we have had record low temps and snowfall amounts this winter, which has made carrying around all the extra weight seem like even more work!
We did not prep a nursery this time around like we did with Nolin. For the time being we are going to have the new baby's things in our guest room--which is where we will stay for the next couple of weeks so that I won't have to do the stairs.
Nolin will have his last week at daycare. Between Luda and I we will have about 5-6 months off from work so the little man will be spending a lot of quality time with us and his new brother or sister.
For his 18 month checkup, he weighed about 24 lbs (24 percentile) and is in the 75th percentile for length, growing 3 inches since September!
He is talking up a storm, eating with a fork, drinking out of a real cup, putting himself down for naps and bedtime and being a real charmer at daycare :) He has been known to hug and kiss a girl or two in his class! He is really into looking at photos lately so we have them covering the fridge at his level and he can point to all of our friends/and family and name everyone (probably YOU if you have sent a card or photo lately!!). He also really likes Elmo, playing with his Little People farm, and playing with all of the stuffed animals in his crib.
He points to my belly and says "baby" but always says it is going to be a "sissssa" not brother. Maybe he will be right, who knows! Luda thinks it is going to be a boy, while I am sure it is a girl. Either way we are in for a surprise come Friday morning!
