Christmas 2013

Every other year we make the trip to Quebec to visit family for the holidays. Unfortunately, this year given how close I am to my due date (and my large size!) we decided to not make the trip this year. I know that Lud would have loved to be there to visit and celebrate with his family but we will have to make up for it next year! Fortunately, myself or my brother did not have to work Christmas this year (not always a given when working at a hospital) so we did get to spend Christmas day with my family.
Christmas Eve was spent with just the three of us, eating an awesome dinner (scallops) and opening our stockings--just the two of us when Nolin was in bed with some hot spiced cider yum! It is our new tradition we started last year to open our stockings just the two of us on Christmas Eve. Among my stocking stuffers was a Magic Bullet (although it didn't quite fit into the stocking) and we have been on a smoothie kick ever since!
Christmas morning we woke up at our house (6 am) and gave Nolin his stocking. Although his interest in opening gifts stopped after the first few things were taken out of the stocking. I put a metal chocolates box in it with some stickers and he played with that all morning up until the point we all got ready to head to my mom's for the day! It's the small things I tell ya!
Nolin was showered with gifts, he was a very lucky boy.
We hung around my mom's house all day with Theo and Vicki and my dad and we ate a ton of great food, including a Beef Tenderloin in a Salt Crust which was to die for!
Successful holiday if I do say so myself. But hey, don't take my word for it, see for yourself :)
