Fun!

Springtime is birthday season in the Marmet household. Mine is mid-april, Lud's is early May and Nolin's will be in early June. We both decided to surprise each other this year. Lud doesn't yet know what his surprise will be, however mine was most excellent!
Last Thursday night I had a surprise visit from Mitchell (Meg) and her boyfriend from Chicago, Jon. They showed up after driving in flood conditions to have pizza and beer with us.  Friday night we went to the Josh Turner concert in Windsor (yet another surprise!) and stayed over while Momma Chick babysat for Mr. Nolin!
We came, we saw, and we conquered the best of what southwest Ontario had to offer! We started the night with a 20 oz. ribeye from the Keg (and a fabulous Keg bloody Caeser, my fave!) and continued on to Papa Chaney's who is famous for their 6-shot whiskey fishbowl drinks. We went on to the concert where we snagged guitar picks (souvenirs, yes!) and then moved to a few other bars along the way. Despite late-night snow (eeek!) and blistered toes from walking in heels, it really was a night I will always remember!
In the morning we made a stop at Lafeyette Coney Island downtown Detroit which has the best classic Coney dogs, perfected for 99 years! I felt very blessed and happy after a wonderful weekend with friends.

I had to show how skilled the servers are at the coney, carrying tons of coney dogs and fries to hungry customers, like us!

Nolin loved Mr. Jon :)

That Sunday night, Aunt Andree from Montreal came for a spaghetti dinner on her way home watching Laurent play tennis at the GLIAC tournament in Midland. It was her first time meeting little man, and we had a great night with her.

Merci pour le cadeau ma Grande Tante Andree!
